How to Unlock and Use Soul Melodies in Tchia

Soul Melodies are special songs that Tchia can learn to play on her ukulele. Besides just sounding pretty, Soul Melodies have the power to empower you and influence the world, which can go a long way toward making your adventure more manageable. It’s kind of like the Ocarina of Time or the Wind Waker.

To play a Soul Melody, just press right on your controller’s D-pad to whip out your ukulele. You’ll get a chart of all the Soul Melodies you’ve unlocked on the bottom of the screen, each with its own sequence of notes. Just pluck out the notes in the order shown to trigger the Soul Melody’s effect.

Finding More Soul Melodies

In order to unlock more Soul Melodies, you need to complete Rock Balancing activities, indicated by a little rock stack waypoint on your screen or map. In these minigames, you need to stack up a sequence of randomly-generated rocks until you reach a target height. You can use the left and right sticks to adjust the positioning and orientation of the rocks, then press A/X to drop them down onto the stack. It’s easier than it sounds, we’re playing pretty fast and loose with the laws of physics here.

You’ll complete your first Rock Balancing as part of the game’s story, which will unlock the four Soul Melodies that allow you to change the time of day to dawn, noon, dusk, or midnight. For other Soul Melodies, though, you’ll need to seek out other Rock Balancing spots hidden throughout the archipelago. Remember, you can shout from high-up Points of View to mark activities on your map, including any Rock Balancing spots if they’re nearby.

Seek out the Rock Balancing spots to unlock more Soul Melodies and transform your ukulele into the ultimate magical swiss army knife! You got a problem in life, that ukulele will solve it, guaranteed.
