With the launch trailer being released for Destiny 2: Lightfall, players and developers alike are all getting ready for the latest expansion to drop on February 28th, 2023. Like any other MMO styled game, the severs for Destiny 2 have to be taken down in order for the devs to implement the new expansion, as well as any new updates and fixes to go along with it. Because of this, many players might be a bit confused when they try and load into the game, only to be notified that the servers are down. Let’s prepare for The Witness, and answer the question: when are Destiny 2 servers going to be down for Lightfall?
When are Destiny 2 Servers going to be Down for Lightfall? Answered
Throughout the lifespan on Destiny 2, Bungie has done pretty well when it comes to keeping their word on when servers will be online for a new expansion. Most notably because instead of trying to get the update pushed through overnight, they take an entire day to make sure everything they are adding has no issues. This is exactly how they are treating the maintenance for Lightfall, as the servers will be down for 24 hours straight before coming back up.
