Yes, I know, surviving in the wild is difficult and deadly sometimes. It’s a good thing then that this is a video game, and you won’t have to face the dangers that a hunted and mutant island may pose, only the protagonists will. That’s nice. Anyway, a man’s got to eat, so here are the best ways to get food in Sons of the Forest.

Eating is a necessity that, thanks to the nature of this game, will exacerbate with the days that pass. Getting some supplies and finding food in the wild will be your best shot at survival. That, and finding some clean water to drink and a cozy and, most importantly, safe place to rest. And well, there are quite a decent amount of food sources in this game, you will want to know where to look first. And yes, we will tell you exactly where to look.

Firstly, like many other items and resources, you will find some food caches around the shoreline, just near your spawn point. You can also go ahead and venture into the forest and pick up some edible plants, such as berries. Nothing wrong about some natural sources of food, right? And speaking of natural, you can also go ahead and hunt some of the local wildlife that roam the island. Craft a spear or even a bow and some arrows, and you will be able to hunt and get some raw meat. Now, don’t you eat that raw meat, even I know that. Go ahead and build a fire and cook it

You can also become sustainable by planting your own crops and setting up some traps to trap some small wildlife such as rabbits or even fish.
