You wouldn’t think a sled would be all that helpful in a wilderness survival situation. Well, maybe not a normal wilderness survival situation, but in one where you may have cannibals and mutants bearing down on you at any given moment, a quick means of locomotion could mean saving your skin. Here’s how to get the sled in Sons of the Forest.
How to Get the Sled in Sons of the Forest
The sled is a portal means of travel you can tote around with you in Sons of the Forest. Much like in real life, you can hop aboard the sled at the top of any hill or incline and ride it down much faster than you would go just running. This is great both for getting around quickly and for making a swift getaway from the occasional ornery cannibal.

Unfortunately, unlike in The Forest, you can’t make a sled from scratch in Sons of the Forest. I guess the idea of tying a few logs together is too unappealing for our protagonist. However, you can make something even better with a little technological assistance.
Creating the Sled
The sled can be fabricated using a 3D printer found in an underground bunker located near the starting beach. If you check your GPS, you’ll see a green spot a short ways northeast from the beach. Follow that marker to find a cave, within which you’ll reach the bunker and the 3D printer.
To print the sled, you’ll need 1,000 Resin. That’s the most expensive item for the printer to make, so make sure you don’t need any of its other offerings before you commit to it. If you’re good, then there should be just enough Resin lying around the bunker to print the sled for yourself.
You can deploy your sled on any slanted surface like a hill, a mountain, or a riverbed. Unfortunately, only you can ride it; you can’t stack things on top of it and kick it down a hill like in the previous game. This sled is for your tummy, exclusively.
