All Content and Items Leaving Destiny 2 after Lightfall Release

Grind while you still can.

There’s quite a bit of content leaving Destiny 2 after Lightfall to make way for future seasons. This isn’t anything new to the Destiny 2 community, but it does always cause a bit of a panic. A lot of players tend to get themselves worked up, worrying over what’s actually leaving Destiny 2 when the newest DLC drops.

Well, I’m here to tell you. I’ll be going over everything leaving Destiny 2 after Lightfall — including what weapons will no longer be obtainable, as well as what content will be leaving the game altogether.

There are two main things leaving Destiny 2 after Lightfall. On one hand, you have all the weapons that will no longer be obtainable. On the other, you have all the seasonal content that will be leaving to make way for seasons 20 onwards.

I’ll go over what weapons are leaving first. Keep in mind that I’m not saying these weapons are gone for good. Not only could Bungie reprise them in the future, but it’s possible we’ll be seeing a way to focus old seasonal weapons with Lightfall — meaning most of these weapons will still be obtainable.

Content

Everything related to Seasons 16, 17, 18, and 19 will also be leaving Destiny 2 when Lightfall launches. This includes the relevant areas and vendors in the H.E.L.M., quests tied to any seasonal narrative, any seasonal currencies, any seasonal areas like the Leviathan, and any currently obtainable seasonal rewards.

Essentially, everything to do with Seasons 16, 17, 18, and 19 will be leaving us. While we may see weapons return in future seasons, the activities and content related to these four seasons is likely gone indefinitely. The only exception to this are Exotic missions like Operation: Seraph’s Shield.

In Bungie’s ‘state of the game’ address, they announced that starting in Season 22, there will be an Exotic mission rotator added to Destiny 2. This means that Exotic missions will return weekly — but that’s about it.

Everything else is gone for good. So, make a point of tying up any loose ends you have lying around. You’ll regret it otherwise.
