This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

There are dozens of different weapons to obtain for Eivor in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Some of these items are of the mythical variety, the top rarity, and the game’s most powerful weapons. One piece of loot everyone might be familiar with is the Excalibur, King Arthur’s legendary sword. You can unlock the Excalibur early in the game, as soon as you get to England. The process for obtaining it can be a journey, though. Here’s how to get the Excalibur Sword in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

How to get the Excalibur Sword in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

To get the Excalibur Sword in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you must find 11 Tablets. You can get eight of these Tablets through the Mystery Events on the map (blue markers). These locations consist of underground caves containing resources and treasure.

The remaining three tablets come from defeating enemies known as Zealots. These Zealots are Heike, Hrothgar, and Woden.

After obtaining all 11 Tablets, you can visit Myrddin’s Cave, located in Hamtunscire, to activate a stone circle. Inserting all 11 Tablets allows you to pull out the Excalibur. Here’s a walkthrough explaining how to get the Tablets.

Tablet Location 1 – Grime’s Graves: East Anglia

Head to Grime’s Graves location in East Anglia. You’re looking for a cave, and when you discover it, a Tablet icon pops up. The same goes for all these locations with Tablets. Head to the end of the cavern and collect the runes from the chest. Break the pottery on the table to get your first Tablet.

Tablet Location 2 – Old Cellar, Essexe

South of Colcestre in Essexe, you can find the Old Cellar cavern. Again, you will see a tablet on your screen when you get near the cave. Burst open the kegs at the end of the cave. That will cause some liquid to spill in the center of the room and expose the tablet.

Tablet Location 3 – Cavern of Trials, Cent

Head to Cent and look for the Cavern of Trials, northeast of Canterbury. Dropdown into the hole to enter the Cavern. Smash the pottery to make your way deeper into the cave. Collect the keys in the air, and enter the area containing the movable objects. Arrange them so you can jump through the area and get to your Tablet.

Tablet Location 4 – Santlache Mine, Suthsexe

West of Cent is the Santlache Mine cavern in Suthsexe. Head to the eastern entrance, and make your way to the end. There is a platform puzzle at the end, so jump across and collect the Opal. Dive into the water, and hold your breath to get to the back side of the area. Come up from the water and collect your Tablet.

Tablet Location 5 – Red Lichen Cavern, Hamtunscire

Tablet 5 is in Suthsexe, east of the city of Winchester. Run through to the back of the cavern. Look out for the poison near the end of the area. Climb up to the ledge, and extinguish the poison clouds with your torch. Doing that allows you to access the tablet.

Tablet Location 6 – Wocig, Hamtunscire

Next up, go northwest of Westchester and look for the Cavern of Trials. It’s a straight cave with some puzzles. Be wary of lighting your torch because it could ignite you, especially near the end. There is an explosive object near the end that reveals a hole in the wall. Go through the hole and collect the Tablet.

Tablet Location 7 – Wican’s Cave, Eurvicscire

Next up is the Wican’s Cave in Eurvicscire, near Northumbria. Look for a giant Ice Cavern, and make your way to the end. Don’t hit the chickens or they will all aggro you! Destroy the crates and the wall and blow up the explosives to take down the wall. Take down some more pigs and break the lock on the door to grab your Tablet from the room.

Tablet Location 8 – Deoraby Spar Cavern, Snotinghamscire

Once again, near Northumbira you’ll be looking for the Deoraby Spar Cavern. Run through the cave and climb up to grab the Tablet. It’s a straightforward cave that is not too confusing.

Zealot 1 – Hrothgar, Suthsexe

All of the Zealots ride on horses, and they are tougher than normal enemies. They can all roam through areas, so you may not find them at the exact locations we show in the images. Hrothgar is in Suthsexe, so follow the roads and you should encounter him eventually.

Zealot 2 – Woden, Cent

Woden rides on a horse along the roads of Cent. You may not find him at the exact location in the image below, but follow the main roads and you should eventually encounter him. A marker shows up on your map when you’re nearby. You can actually stun lock this enemy with dual blades if you are having some trouble. Defeating Woden grants you a Tablet.

Zealot 3 – Heike, Essexe

Heike also rides on a horse, except he is in the Essexe region of England. Again, he moves around a lot so you may not find him at the exact location. Look for the Zealot marker on your map to identify where she’s at.

Excalibur Location

After you have all 11 Tablets, you can go to Myrddin’s Cave in Hamtunscire. Head to the area marked on the map below, which is another Cavern. Make your way through the caves. It’s a long run, but there’s nothing particularly difficult in here. You will dive off a high cliff into some water, and have to swim to the bottom through an opening and down a path.

Continue swimming until you can emerge through the opening. Climb up onto the stones to the right, jumping across the gaps and continuing through the cave. Eventually, you will come across a large stone object on the ground. You will get to a bunch of large stone structures in a semicircle formation. Insert the tablets in each of the stones and Excalibur will light up, allowing you to pull it from the stone.
