Legends at War Adds Game of Thrones Star as Playable Character

Winter is Here.

It would seem that winter truly has arrived. Legends at War has announced that Hafthor Bjornsson is joining the cast of the epic MMORTS game. Bjornsson, who Game of Thrones fans will recognize as the colossal Mountain, will be featured in a special tournament beginning in February.

But, that’s not all! Unlike other cross-collaborations between game studios and celebrities, Bjornsson will also contribute to the game’s development. So, there doesn’t seem to be an end date for this promotion.

Bjornsson, who goes by the nickname ‘Thor,’ is the former World’s Strongest Man. In Game of Thrones, he plays a character referred to as The Mountain, a silent, towering entity. In Legends at War, Bjornsson will be reprising his role as The Mountain. And, in addition, a tournament called “Conquer the Mountain” will be launched in February.

Game of Thrones isn’t Bjornsson’s sole acting credit. In 2022, he starred in The Northman as Thorfinnr, and in 2018 he played the role of Mongkut in Kickboxer: Retaliation. But, there are many instances where Bjornsson is playing himself, such as in the 2015 film Eddie: Strongman.

Legends at War is a free-to-play experience available via iOS and Android devices, as well as PC, Mac, and through web browsers. In the game, players can sink into an immersive medieval environment and embark on a war-torn adventure. As the game is built on the blockchain, according to game’s website, in-game assets are owned entirely by the player. Legends at War is being developed by Sabre Games.
