Soulcalibur 6 Tier List: Best Characters Ranked

The signature style of the Soulcalibur series is the clash between various forms of combat and swordsmanship from all over the world. Now, obviously, there is no such thing as an objectively correct means of combat, so we can’t judge the characters’ styles, but we can certainly judge how the characters use them. Here’s our best character tier list for Soulcalibur 6.

The majority of the characters in Soulcalibur 6 have been very carefully balanced against one another, so putting a tier list together is especially tricky. Generally speaking, though, the best characters are the ones that have the fewest bad matchups. If a character has another character that can almost always run circles around them, that’s a point against them. The ones who have few or none of those are our champs, and the ones who have many of those are our rejects.

Let it be known that we’re not disparaging anyone who chooses a lower-tier character. It’s just that the lower-tier characters often require a greater commitment of skill and memorization from the player, while the higher-tier ones are more overtly useful from the moment you pick them up.

Soulcalibur 6 S-Tier Characters

These folks are the cream of the crop. They’re strong and fast, have easily utilized movesets, and can adapt to just about any opponent. No one will look at you sideways for picking one of these.

Soulcalibur 6 A-Tier Characters

These characters are your all-rounders. They’re not at the pinnacle by any means, but they’re still a respectable selection in most situations. You won’t have a cakewalk with them, but it won’t be agonizing either.

• Kilik

Soulcalibur 6 B-Tier Characters

These characters require a bit more investment on your part. They’ve got some good bones to work with, but also have some pretty glaring weaknesses. It’ll be on you to make up the difference with raw skill.

Soulcaibur 6 C-Tier Characters

Choosing one of these characters would be an uphill battle, to put it lightly. While they can be viable with sufficient lab time, expect your competitive matches to remain fairly hit or miss.

Remember that tiers are more of a guideline than an absolute rule. If there’s a character you want to try, by all means, try them! Just remember that your own level of skill with the game’s systems may be a greater or lesser factor, depending.
