How Do You Fix “No Supported DXGI Adapter Were Found” Error in Modern Warfare 2?

Another Day, Another Error ...

In the current gaming landscape, it can sometimes get frustrating when the games we spend our hard-earned money on don’t work. It’s even more frustrating when the problems we experience aren’t actually the fault of the developers at all. But, at the same time, if the issue can be solved without involving the dev’s support staff, then … that sounds like a complete and total win.

In the case of the recently released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, it looks like some players are seeing a … unique error, to say the least! But, thankfully, the method of solving it is pretty mundane! These players start the game, but before it can fully load, they’re met with this error: “No Supported DXGI Adapter Were Found.” Aside from that being improper grammar — sorry, I had to point it out — this fix is quite simple.

How to Fix “No Supported DXGI Adapter Were Found” Error?

I mentioned that it was a simple fix, and I meant it. It’d seem that, if you’re experiencing this problem, you should check to ensure your graphics card drivers are all up-to-date! That’s an easy thing to forget, with how many updates are pushed through in such a short time, so that will probably fix the problem!

If you aren’t sure how to do that — no shame here — there should be a dedicated program on your computer for your graphics card. There’s a good chance it’s GeForce Experience if you have an Nvidia card. Or, if you happen to have an AMD card, it’ll be Adrenalin Software.

If you happen to have a third, unnamed card, that’s OK! Just find your provider’s website and locate their page for current drivers. They should make it quite obvious how to go about downloading and installing the updated drivers. Ideally, once you’re up-to-date, you won’t run into this problem again anytime soon!
