How to Get Gold Camo in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer is out and so too are the challenges to complete to unlock Gun Skins. Of course, gun skins would not be complete without the Gold Camo. It appears that this time, obtaining the Gold Camo is relatively easy compared to previous Call of Duty installments. When unlocking any camo players are given challenges to complete as you level up the weapon, upon completing of these challenges you will unlock the skins associated to that challenge. For each weapon there are 4 challenges to complete. After players have completed these the Gold Camo Challenge will appear. Depending on which gun you are using, challenges appear at different levels.

Here is how to unlock the Gold Camo in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. These are 2 examples of how to unlock Gold Camo with an Assault Rifle and a Marksman Rifle. Every gun has 4 different base challenges to complete before the Gold Camo Challenge.

Base challenges for M4 Assault Rifle

  1. Get 50 Kills
  2. Get 50 ADS (Aim Down Sights) Kills
  3. Get 10 Double Kills (kill 2 players within quick succession)
  4. Get 15 Kills from Behind

Base challenges for SP-R 208 Marksman Rifle

  1. Get 50 Kills
  2. Get 50 Kills ADS
  3. Get 30 Kills whilst Prone
  4. Get 20 Kills whilst Mounted

The Gold Camo Challenge

Once you have completed the base gun skin challenges you will have the opportunity to complete the Gold Camo challenge. This challenge is to ‘Get a Killstreak of 3+ Kills 10 times’. Best modes to level up fast and take on the challenge are War and Domination.

Common Bug on Equipping Gold Camo

If you are having problems on PC equipping the skin after you have unlocked it, use the arrow keys instead of your mouse to navigate the camo menu and select the gold camo.
