Is Farah Going to Return for Modern Warfare 2?

Is Farah back in action?

Activision and Infinity Ward’s 2019 entry to the Call of Duty franchise, Modern Warfare, was a pivotal game in many ways. It revolutionized the Call of Duty gameplay, harkening back to boots-on-the-ground gameplay while also making things more realistic, as well as introducing a fantastic, gripping story that had tons of action yet didn’t travel too far into that Michael Bay territory that the franchise is known to often trail off into.

One of the things that really grabbed players, myself included, about the campaign’s story was that of protagonist Farah Karim’s rise to being a strong leader as well as her dueling morality with her brother Hadir. Though Modern Warfare’s story revolved heavily around her, her brother, and their nemesis and game’s main antagonist, Roman Barkbov, we haven’t heard a word about Farah’s involvement in the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 or its story. But a recent development with a multiplayer Operator skin could have given a glimmer of hope.

As far as multiplayer goes, at least, Farah is most definitely going to be in Modern Warfare 2, in some capacity. In fact, this new realization could also indicate a bigger role for her in the upcoming Modern Warfare 2’s Campaign altogether.

Players that pre-ordered the Vault Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 get access to a skin pack, Red Team 141, for the iconic Task Force 141, which includes 4 skins in total. There’s one for Price, Soap, Ghost, and of course, Farah. This revelation cements the fact that the Modern Warfare universe has yet to forget the heroic victim turned leader.

Though it isn’t so much a surprise that she will most likely play some kind of part in the campaign of MW2, it was left to mystery for a while. As a new character, Colonel Alejandro Vargas had been used in a lot of the game’s marketing, along with Ghost, Soap, Price, and Gaz. Farah has not been used in any capacity aside from this skin pack so it had seemed that Farah’s time may have passed.

Hopefully, this skin pack is representative of her being a cemented member of Task Force 141 and not just an Operator for Multiplayer and Warzone. She’s an important character in this newly rebooted take on the Modern Warfare series, and it would hurt not only the players who like her but the story as well if she were left behind.

That’s all we know so far about Farah’s involvement in Modern Warfare 2, but hopefully, she’ll be back and better than ever in this next Call of Duty outing.
