Bungie has announced in a Tweet that they have disabled the Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk Hunter Exotic temporarily in Destiny 2 as they investigate a compatibility issue between it and another Exotic. This follows the temporary disabling of the Lightfall preorder bonus Quicksilver, and the new Titan Exotic Point-Contract Cannon Brace. Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk is just another entry in a long list of new equipment breaking the Destiny 2 ecosystem.
Bungie has disabled two of the three Exotics introduced in Season of Plunder, as well as a preorder bonus that also went live with the season within weeks of said season starting. This is unprecedented in Destiny’s history, although the disabling of equipment, in general, isn’t – either due to bugs or unintended synergies. It’s the latter that has led to Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk being temporarily disabled.
Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk Disabled Due to Unintended Loreley Synergy
Bungie disabled Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk in Destiny 2 due to an unintended synergy the armor had with the recently nerfed Loreley Splendor Helm. Gyrfalcon’s has the effect of giving the user’s teammates improved class ability regen until they use their class ability. Loreley Splendor has the effect of draining the user’s class ability energy to create a sunspot for healing when critically wounded.

Despite draining the user’s class ability, Loreley’s activation doesn’t count as using their class ability. This means the increased regen from Gyrfalcon’s remains active indefinitely. As a result, Titans are activating Loreley Splendor far more than Bungie intended. As a result, Bungie has disabled Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk until they can put a fix in place.
This isn’t too complicated of an issue, although it is frustrating for Hunters experimenting with the new Exotic. Regardless, it shouldn’t take Bungie too long to push a fix out and reenable the Exotic in-game.
