Xenoblade Chronicles 3: How To Unlock The Lone Exile Class

The Lone Exile is one of the most powerful classes in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, but it can be challenging to unlock.

The Lone Exile is one of the more unorthodox classes in Xenoblade Chronicles 3, but it is also one of the most useful. With its aggro-drawing Arts and powerful attacks, the Lone Exile easily keeps enemies occupied. But, while many of the game’s classes are unlocked simply by playing through the story, the Lone Exile is a bit more elusive.

The following cutscene introduces Ashera, commander of Colony 11 and wielder of the Lone Exile class. She shows off her reckless attitude toward combat, a quality that has made her famous among the Kevesi army. She aids the party in battle against a squad of Levnis robots before asking for their help in reclaiming Colony 11. Head to the bridge further east to accept her proposal and begin the quest.

The next part of the quest is a battle of attrition, with three stages that each feature waves of enemies. After each battle, the party pushes forward across the bridge into Colony 11. Ashera informs the party that the Consul of Colony 11 ousted her from her command by seizing control of the residents. In order to save her people, she asks for their help in taking the Consul down for good.

The Consul emerges and transforms into his Moebius form for the battle. After his defeat, Ashera thanks the party for their help before wandering off. Later that night, Eunie and Ashera talk about why she believes that fighting gives her life meaning. After their conversation, Asher joins the party as a Hero character and Eunie inherits the Lone Exile class.

The Lone Exile

The Lone Exile is a powerful Defender class that eschews the conventions of blocking and evading for a more direct approach: all offense. It balances drawing enemy aggro with dishing out massive damage through fast, bladed strikes. The Goading Attack skill increases aggro generated from dealing damage while Returning the Favor deals bonus damage to any enemy attacking a nearby ally.

Once the Lone Exile has drawn an enemy’s aggro, it can throw up a defensive barrier with Eye of the Storm. This Art not only protects the character but also deals double damage to any enemy that attacks while the Art is active. It all comes together to make the Lone Exile a unique and punishing Defender class.

Eunie inherits the Lone Exile class, so she has S-Rank growth. Taion has A-Rank, Lanz and Mio have B, Noah has C, and Sena has D.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
