June 1st, 2021 marks the Burning Crusade Classic (TBC) release day, the first major expansion to World of Warcraft Classic. For some players, this is their first time experiencing Burning Crusade content. Either way, it’s an exciting time to be playing World of Warcraft Classic, and we should see a massive resurgence in the player base. So, new players might be wondering: where is the Dark Portal location in Burning Crusade Classic, and how do you get to it?
Where is the Dark Portal in Burning Crusade Classic?
The Dark Portal is in the southern area of Blasted Lands. Players will need to own Burning Crusade Classic and have their character level 58 or above to enter and proceed to the Hellfire Peninsula in Outland.
How to get to the Dark Portal in WoW Classic
To get to the Dark Portal, you will need to travel to the closest flight path, which varies by faction. The closest alliance flight path to the Dark Portal is Nethergard Keep in Blasting Lands. The closest Horde flight path to the Dark Portal is Stonard in Swamp of Sorrows.
If you are in a PvP realm, there are a few tricks to entering the Dark Portal without physically walking through the portal. You can find two pillars to the left and right of the portal. If you duel a player near the pillars and get polymorphed or feared into it, you can stay there. You can then walk through to the portal-side of the post and enter into the Dark Portal that way.
Another method for entering the Dark Portal is simply being dead and waiting by the portal in ghost form. If you are already dead, you don’t need to worry about getting killed—big brain tactics. Many players may also be doing this, so slow login time, lag, and queues are likely.
Finally, it is possible to climb the mountain behind the Dark Portal. If you successfully make all of the necessary jumps, you can leap directly onto the invisible floor behind the portal from the mountains. You would then need to walk over and above the Dark Portal and drop into it from the front side.
