The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC is finally within reach! The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero will be released in two epic parts: The Teal Mask, which will be released in the fall of 2023, and The Indigo Disk, which will be released in the winter of 2023. This DLC is going to be adding a lot of new content to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you don’t want to miss out on any of the new features or Pokémon!
With all of the new content that’s been confirmed in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC, it’s understandable for fans to wonder about what else could possibly be hidden in the new expansion. It’s already been confirmed that new Pokémon are going to be introduced, so why not new starters? Keep reading to find out if the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC will have its own starters!
Will the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC Have Its Own Starters?
Although a host of new starters would be undeniably amazing, it does not look like there will be any new starters in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC. By sifting through all of the officially released information and even some of the unofficial rumors regarding this DLC, there is, unfortunately, nothing that could suggest the introduction of any new starter Pokémon. For now, you’ll just have to stick with the game’s original adorable starters, Fuecoco, Sprigatito, and Quaxly.
Although it’s unlikely that this DLC will introduce more starter Pokémon, it’s not impossible. There’s always a slim chance that Nintendo could pull a fast one on everyone, though if they really were hiding a few DLC-exclusive starters up their sleeves, they likely would have already advertised them along with the other new DLC Pokémon. So although you can get your hopes up if you want to, it’s not recommended.

What Pokémon Will Be Included in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC?
Although it likely won’t include any new starters, the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC will be adding a lot of new content to the games. For starters (no pun intended), the DLC will be adding at least three new confirmed Pokémon: Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti. These Pokémon are known as the “heroes of Kitakami”, and you’ll be able to meet them in the DLC’s first installment, The Teal Mask. There will also be two new epic legendaries added, Ogerpon for Pokémon Scarlet and Terapagos for Pokémon Violet.
In addition to this, this DLC will add over 230 familiar Pokémon from previous generations to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet! Some of these familiar Pokémon will include Ninetales, Chingling, Milotic, Shiftry, Yanma, and Vikavolt for Pokémon Scarlet, and Zebstrika, Seel, Metagross, Espurr, Alcremie, and Whimsicott for Pokémon Violet.
It’s also been confirmed by the developers of Scarlet and Violet themselves that if you purchase The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero prior to October 31, 2023, you’ll be eligible to receive a Hisuian Zoroark with a unique moveset! So if you didn’t already have enough reasons to buy the DLC, you definitely do now!
Will the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC Introduce Ultra Beasts?
Although it hasn’t been confirmed or denied yet, it’s been rumored that the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC may be adding Ultra Beasts to the game. In the main game, players are able to obtain a Beast Ball by catching 400 Pokémon and completing their Pokédex.
Many players have found this reward to be more than a little odd, since, as far as anyone is aware, Ultra Beasts aren’t in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. The new DLC may shed some light upon this conundrum, however.
If Ultra Beasts are brought to Scarlet and Violet through the DLC, it would explain why players are able to get their hands on a Beast Ball, a Pokéball that would otherwise be useless. Pokémon fans haven’t seen any new Ultra Beast content since Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, so they would definitely be a welcome addition to Scarlet and Violet for many players.
Although there likely won’t be any new starters in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC, there will be plenty of new Pokémon to keep you busy. Be sure to stick with Gamer Journalist for all updates and details regarding the release of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero!
