Why Aren’t My Skins Loading in Overwatch 2? Explained

It's like that nightmare where you're at school in your undies.

One of the main appeals of Overwatch and Overwatch 2 is the vast number of creative character skins and cosmetics you can unlock to give your heroes a bit of personality. It definitely takes a lot of effort to unlock those cosmetics, which is why it’d be pretty alarming if they all vanished from your collection. On that note, here’s why your skins aren’t loading in Overwatch 2.

Now, there’s good news and bad news about this. The good news is that it’s just a loading bug. You haven’t lost any of your cosmetics, they’re all still registered to your Battle.net account. Blizzard is aware of the problem, having added it to their Known Issues list as of October 4th, which means there should be a fix soon.

The bad news is that we don’t know exactly how soon. Additionally, the problem is quite pervasive, affecting not just the PC version of Overwatch 2, but the console versions as well. This means that there isn’t really anything you can do about it individually. You’ll just have to wait until Blizzard releases a patch to fix the problem.

On the bright(ish) side, Overwatch 2’s queues are so long right now, you probably won’t be able to get into a match, so nobody will see your characters with default skins! Small victories, I guess.
