Where to Use Power Nodes in Dead Space Remake

Something of great importance to look out for

Dead Space has returned after a 15 year wait. This time however is not a continuation of Isaac Clarke’s story but rather a revisit. For those who fondly remember this game but no longer own the older consoles. Or to bring back the sci-fi horror adventure for those who never got to experience it the first time around. With third-person action gameplay and horrifying visuals. Dead Space is back to outdo The Callisto Protocol, 15 years after its original release. This is our guide on where to use the Power Node in Dead Space Remake.

What are Power Nodes?

As this is a faithful remake, players are reintroduced to the item, Power Node. This is an uncommon item which is only found through careful exploration of the Levels as you progress through them. Due to the limited inventory space and the priority in resource gathering, players need to keep an eye out for these particularly important items. The Power Node is few and far between, typically being found inside blue lockers. Unlike other items you will obtain throughout the game, Nodes are tracked in their own counter. Meaning you do not need to prioritise their spot on your person more than others.

Because of this, be sure to keep your eye out for them at all times, with the appearance of a circular object with a glowing interior. These can be collected and the amount you hold can be tracked, therefore you will always know what you can and cannot spend it on. Saying that, this is where to use the Power Node once you obtain one in Dead Space.

Where to Use Power Nodes in Dead Space

Once you find a Power Node, these can be used in two specific places. One of which is the ability to upgrade equipment with the Node. In typical upgrading functions, players will be able to use the Node once to upgrade a part of the weapon, Stasis or RIG Armor. These can either be used to increase your defences or offenses depending on what you prioritise in this action-horror shooter. With the Node used, more upgrades appear as a means to upgrade once again should you locate another Node. With so many options, you must keep your eyes out on the Nodes to upgrade your equipment whenever you can.

The other way a Power Node is used is to unlock Supply Rooms. These rooms cannot be unlocked by any other method aside from the use of a Power Node. Of course, the priority will be to upgrade your equipment first and find these rooms second. However, should you use the Node to get inside these Emergency Supply Rooms, you will find a lot of goodies inside. That of Med Packs, Ammo, Credits, even Schematics for RIG upgrades inside. It can sometimes be a better pick to prioritize opening up one of these rooms instead of just spending it on an equipment upgrade. But, the choice is yours to make.

The Dead Space Remake released January 27th, 2023 on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Microsoft Windows.
