There are many ways to obtain these keys but none of which are certain. Remember that once the key is within your possession, should you die on the field you will lose the special key. How to Obtain Keys in DMZ

Keys in DMZ are not obtained a specific way due to it being collected through random looting. You can find keys more regularly by hitting certain objectives in DMZ. Some the game tells you to accomplish, others you just have to figure out for yourself. There are two types of keys in DMZ. These are:

  • Location Keys (POI) – Keys with a yellow icon in your inventory. You have to find the specific location in which these keys open the area.
  • Object Keys – These open things such as caches, toolboxes, lockers etc.

We recommend finding the Downtown Post Office Key first through looting bags, crates and enemies. You should target higher levelled AI (enemies that take longer to kill) to increase your chances of these keys dropping as loot. Alternatively, you can purchase this key at the Buy Station but only if the game is stocking them at the time. This is randomized, therefore we recommend fighting enemies instead as a quicker means of nabbing a Post Office Key for yourself.

Once this is found, head to F4 coordinates on the Map. Found in the south-west side of Al-Mazrah City, refer to the Mail icon on the Map for the exact location. You want to loot everything including the mail boxes for possible keys. You should leave the building with an average of 5 keys every visit.

The Maintenance Key Location

Once you obtain the Maintenance Key, upon inspection you will see that it is specifically for a door inside the Airport. Enter the Al Malik Terminal and head to the double-doors on the north-east side of the Terminal. Refer to the map below for an exact location of the doors you need to find (the red dot on the screenshot). Alternatively, you can enter this area from the other side of the doors, approaching the Terminal from the outside.

Once found, all you need to do is go up to the door and interact with it. It will automatically use the correct key, in this case it is the ‘Maintenance Key’. Inside, you will find a duffel bag in the left-hand corner of the room. Next to it is an orange door with a deadbolt which you can unlock. The double-doors on the opposite side of where you came in is another entrance to the room which you could have accessed via outside of the Airport. You will also find a first aid kit in the room should you need it after fighting enemies in the Airport.

To the right of the room is a ladder which you can climb to collect even more loot. Including that of an orange supply box, providing you with better equipment. Such as weapons and armored vests. This will prove useful in completing Faction Missions and surviving longer on the field. There are also backpacks which you can take as an upgrade if you have not previously increased the size of your backpack by searching other locked rooms using the DMZ keys.
