What is the Body Press TM?

Body Press is a TM (Technical Machine). These Technical Machines are used to teach a Pokémon a move. Of course, not every TM can be used on every Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet. Body Press is a Fighting-Type move; therefore, it can only be used on a select amount of Pokémon. TMs can be reused so players do not need to worry about choosing just one Pokémon to learn this new move.

The Pokémon which can learn this move are:

  • Slowbro
  • Dragonite
  • Sudowoodo
  • Tyranitar
  • Torkoal
  • Bronzong
  • Hippowdon
  • Magnezone
  • Beartic
  • Hawlucha
  • Goodra
  • Avalugg
  • Mudsdale
  • Greedent
  • Corviknight
  • Drednaw
  • Carkol
  • Coalossal
  • Appletun
  • Sandaconda
  • Grimmsnarl
  • Stonjourner
  • Cufant
  • Copperajah

The effect of Body Press is the infliction of damage through the use of its Defensive Stat. Held items such as the Choice Band will increase the Stat to inflict more damage when using Body Press in battle.

Where to Find the Body Press TM in Scarlet and Violet

Players can find the Body Press TM in South Province (Area Four). You can find this very early in the game by starting at Mesagoza and going into South Province (Area Two). From here, head south and cross the river into Area Four. The TM is found on the peak of the hill in this area. Players do not need to have the climbing ability on their Legendary Pokémon Miraidon/Koraidon to grab this TM. Instead, approach the hill from the left side where there is a slope. It may take multiple attempts to jump on top, but you can make it. The Body Press TM is located here with a yellow indicator beam, beside a rock.

Body Press TM can also be found in West Province (Area Three) in between the Great Crater and Glaseado Mountains. Locate the TM atop the Runes in this area. For this one, players are required to get the climbing ability from defeating the final Path of Legends Titan called the False Dragon Titan.

The final spot to find Body Press is in East Province (Area Three). Once again, players need the climbing ability to obtain this TM. This can be found directly next to the East Province (Area Three) Watchtower. Players must climb the rocky cliffs off to the side of the Watchtower. At the tip of the cliff players need to drop down into a small area with a crate. Here, players will obtain the TM. Refer to the black circle on the map for an exact location of the TMs across Paldea.

How to Use a TM

Players can apply the effect of a TM at any time through their Bag. Scroll using right on the D-Pad to the TM tab (looks like a CD). From here you will see your list of collected TMs, scroll to the one you wish to use. Keep in mind that on this screen it will only show you the compatibility of the TM with the Pokémon in your active party. If they can learn this move, the bar underneath the Pokémon name and icon will appear green with the words ‘Can learn‘. You can use the TM on this Pokémon to teach it the new move. You will likely have to overwrite an old move having the Pokémon forget it forever. So be sure that you definitely want to give the Pokémon this TM.
