How to Complete ‘Calling Cards’ in DMZ Season 3

A new Faction brings forth new Missions. Whilst players may have grown used to the upgraded and increased difficulty in the AI, especially on the Ashika Island Map, a new Faction can throw everything you previously knew out of the window. Not only this but, in accompaniment with all of the DMZ upgrades, from the Bartering System to the Contraband Workbench, there is a lot to get used to once more. But the Faction Missions are something everyone can fall back on. The focus of this Mission is locating the Scavenger. Although very little information is provided in his appearance and whereabouts. All you know is that you are tasked in located him through Scavenger Calling Cards.

Where to Find Scavenger Calling Cards

The Mission points you specifically towards Operators, therefore you need to find the bodies of falling Operators. For those who may not know, these are fellow players who drop into the DMZ, not any AI enemies you will come across on the Map. Just like the Scavenger Perk, your target is looting the bodies of Operators, obtaining supplies, typically ammo, simply by walking past their bodies. But for this Mission, the Scavenger is picking up their Dog Tags and replacing the slot with his Scavenger Calling Card. Therefore, players are on the hunt for the serial killer of DMZ.

Make sure that if you obtain a Scavenger Calling Card that you do not drop them from your Backpack as you will not be able to pick them up again. What is crucial to this Mission however is that the Scavenger will loot the bodies of Operators in his area of the Map, meaning that if you locate him before finding all 3 Calling Cards and kill him, you likely will not be able to get all 3 Calling Cards to complete the Mission. For this reason, your best bet is that if you locate him before obtaining every Calling Card, that you leave him to do his bidding and collect each Dog Tag from fallen Operators and kill the Scavenger upon finding every Calling Card you need for the first Objective.

How to Find the Scavenger – Location and Appearance

Your goal is to find the 3 Calling Cards left by the Scavenger. These can be found on the bodies of falling Operators and whilst the Scavenger does not need to kill them himself, he will drop the Cards onto their bodies if he is in the vicinity. Because of this, you could have long periods of time without finding the Cards as the Scavenger will be within a single named location on the Map, just like other DMZ Bosses. However, when looking for him, he will be dressed in a black Ghillie Suit, with a multi-pocket utility belt on. His only noticeable armor is of his knee pads whilst the majority of his body is covered in bags.

The Scavenger runs around the Map taking out Operators and stealing their Dog Tags. Just like the other Bosses on the Maps however, such as The Chemist or Velikan, the game will prompt you when the Scavenger is close to you. Although this kind of defeats the point of the Mission as you can actually find the Scavenger without finding a single Calling Card, you will want to focus your attention on the Cards first. However, if you are struggling to find any Calling Cards, finding a vehicle and driving around the Map will reward you with the Scavengers location naturally.

But finding and killing the Scavenger is only one part of the Mission. You must find 3 of his Scavenger Calling Cards to complete the Tier 1 Mission successfully so you can move on. Keep in mind that the Scavenger will move around a lot and rather run from you than take you on himself. He will likely be followed by other AI enemies so be careful to not run straight for him as he could lead you straight into a trap. The Scavenger has armored plates but is relatively easy to kill.
