Why bring a flashlight when you can BE the flashlight.

As players progress and enjoy the spectacle that is Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll come to find something truly horrifying. Throughout the beginning of the game even after you complete the tutorial island, you’ll be able to use two different maps. These show the respective sky and land maps, each with their own unique structures. And surprisingly, these are not the only maps in the game. There is a third map, covering what is known as The Depths of Hyrule. You’ll want to make sure you have sufficient light when traversing this pitch black area, as well as other caves that lack the proper illumination. Look no further than some very interesting bright aquatic creatures. Let’s grab a rod and figure out where to find Glowing Fish in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

These fish are easy to spot in the water, as they have an unmistakable bright glow in the water. However, their illuminating evolution was brought about due to their environment. Glowing Fish can only be found in dark caves, primarily ones that are at the bottom of a well. There are a myriad of wells all around Hyrule that are home to various materials and creatures. A few of these wells however, are guaranteed to have Glowing Fish. And two of them are fairly close to each other.

After finishing the tutorial area and diving down to the land of Hyrule, you’ll be tasked with heading towards Lookout Landing, and finding clues about Princess Zelda. Instead of heading there, you can either make your way to the east near the Rebonae Bridge, or head southeast to the Mabe Village Ruins. We navigated our way to the ruins, and slightly northwest of the main ruins, will be the Mabe Village Ruins Well. Jump down into the well, and along with some sticky lizards and mineral deposits, will be a cenote containing many Glowing Fish. You can either shoot them with arrows, or cannonball directly into the water and stuff them in your pocket. Either way, you’ll now have some Glowing Fish, and can cook and eat them to make Link a human flashlight.
