Where to find Dragonite Ore in Monster Hunter Rise

Everything is made cooler by an association with dragons. It’s basically a scientific fact. I guarantee you nobody would give dragonfruit the time of day if it wasn’t called “dragonfruit.” Fitting with this theme, one of the best materials in Monster Hunter Rise bears that coveted association, though I hope you don’t mind sweating a bit to get some. Here’s where to find Dragonite Ore in Monster Hunter Rise.

Dragonite Ore (no relation to the Dragon Pokémon) is one of the most important materials in Monster Hunter Rise, serving as a means of upgrading the cream of the crop S-rank weapons. Befitting such a legendary mineral, it can only be found in a particularly spicy locale, and only under certain conditions.

Dragonite Ore spawns exclusively in Mining Outcrops located within the Lava Caverns, and most frequently in the High Rank iteration of them. You can go mining for it in the lower rank iterations of the map, but while it is technically possible to find Dragonite Ore prior to High Rank, your odds of doing so are less than stellar.

As with other rare minerals, your best bet for finding them in large quantities is to prioritize the white Mining Outcrops over the blue ones. Also, you should try to get your Geology skill level up to 3 to increase your mining yield, and if you have it, go ahead and eat the Harvester dango.

When you’ve sufficiently prepared, you’ll want to follow a particular path through the map to hit as many Mining Outcrops as possible as quickly as possible, while still giving them enough time to regenerate between run-throughs. From the starting point, enter Area 1 and take an immediate right into Area 4. Climb over the cliffs to Area 9, then curve around the northwestern cliffs into Area 7. Worm your way around the bend up to Area 11, then curve right down to Area 14. Finally, mine your way through Areas 13 and 5, before ultimately finding yourself back at Area 4 to start the cycle over again.
