Where to Find and Kill 3 Pyro Guards in Warzone 2.0 DMZ – Friendly Fire Mission Guide

It's heating up in here

The latest Boss in DMZ has arrived, the Pyro Commander. Whilst many knew of his arrival it was not confirmed until April 14th, 2023, with his introduction within the Faction Mission ‘Friendly Fire’. Call of Duty are turning up the heat with their hardest Boss yet for DMZ. Being a mix of a classic Modern Warfare Juggernaut with a Riot Shield abuser in Multiplayer, the Commander is a formidable foe to face and one that may require multiple attempts to take out. But the ‘Friendly Fire’ Mission is not a Hit on the Pyro Commander alone, in fact you will need to take out his henchmen, the Pyro Guards in order to complete this Mission. This is our guide on how to do so.

How to Complete ‘Friendly Fire’ Mission

Where to Find the Pyro Commander and Pyro Guards

The ‘Friendly Fire’ Mission is asking players to fight fire with fire, in an intense, claustrophobic battle for the Alpha of the Stronghold. Yes, the Pyro Commander can only be found in a Stronghold. This means that to complete this Mission or to kill the new Boss, you must obtain a Stronghold Key. But not just any Key, you will need either the US Embassy, Downtown Post Office or the Control Tower Key to get into the Stronghold. Alternatively, you can purchase the Skeleton Key, although the process of Bartering for one is as long as finding a Special DMZ Key by luck.

The Pyro Commander is only locatable within the 3 areas of the Map listed above, and only in Al Mazrah. The same is said for his henchmen as they can only be found in the same Stronghold as the Commander.

How to Kill the Commander and his Guards

The Objectives are simple although incredibly hard to execute. Players need to both kill the Pyro Commander, we have a full guide available here, and take out 3 of his Guards in the process. In summary, we recommend keeping a safe distance from the Boss as he is using a Semi-auto Shotgun that lights you on fire with each bullet and you cannot flank the guy due to his Riot Shield. Because of his Loadout, you should use Equipment such as Drill Charge, Stims and an Assault Rifle. If you can, try to fight the Boss with at least one teammate so that you can use someone as bait for the bullets.

There are Explosive Barrels in these Strongholds and close to the Pyro Commander but we highly recommend that you do not use these when taking on the Commander. Instead, you should use these against the Pyro Guards. The reason for this is that you must kill 3 Guards using Fire and the only real methods of doing so is by shooting the Barrels or using Molotovs. Unlike the Commander, the Pyro Guards are incredibly easy to kill and do not require many bullets in your Magazine to take out. For this reason you should use only Molotovs and the Barrels to kill the Guards. If you happen to use all of your Lethal Equipment or take out the Barrels without taking the Guards with them, make sure that you have a Munitions Box with you to replenish your Equipment so you can try again.

The Pyro Guards are distinguishable by their orange hoods, so be on the lookout for these. Depending on where you enter the Stronghold from, you will meet these before your encounter with the Commander. For that reason, we do not recommend that you run in and take out everything you see as you could kill the Guards with bullets instead of Fire for the ‘Friendly Fire’ Mission.

That was our guide on how to complete the ‘Friendly Fire’ Mission to kill 3 Pyro Guards with Fire. For more Call of Duty content, including many DMZ Mission Guides, feel free to check out our COD section on Gamer Journalist. As always, thank you for reading and we hope you enjoyed.
