Like previous games, players will be controlling a hunter aiming to track down powerful monsters, some returning, and some new. For Monster Hunter fans who own a Switch, the question on your mind is probably, “when does Monster Hunter Rise unlock on Nintendo Switch?” Well, here’s everything you need to know.

When Does Monster Hunter Rise Unlock on Nintendo Switch?

Monster Hunter Rise may unlock at midnight on March 26, as per Nintendo’s official support page. However, it may also unlock at 3 AM ET; the official unlock time for all third-party titles on the Nintendo Switch platform. Seeing as how Monster Hunter Rise is indeed a third-party title, we’re inclined to believe it’s going to release at 3 AM ET on March 26.

Things become a bit unclear, though, since Monster Hunter Rise is a Nintendo Switch timed-exclusive title. Either way, you will have a three-hour window between midnight and 3 AM to wait for the game to unlock. If we hear any official announcements from either Nintendo or the Monster Hunter team, we’ll update our information accordingly.

Update: Monster Hunter Rise is official available on Nintendo Switch. Players in the America regions will have access via the Nintendo eShop in a few hours.

Where to download Monster Hunter Rise

Nintendo Switch owners looking to download Monster Hunter Rise as soon as possible can visit the Nintendo eShop. We recommend using a high-performance internet connection since new titles will take a while to download. After you purchase the game from the eShop, you can download it and play it when it’s unlocked.

In the meantime, you can check out the Monster Hunters Rise demo, which features quests to kill Great Izuchi, Mizutsune, or Magnamalo. You can even play with others, but you’re limited to a specific number of quest attempts before they become unavailable. There’s also no transferring progress from the demo to the full release.
