Since Baldur’s Gate 3’s full launch on PC in early August, people have begun to truly experience Larian Studios’ magnum opus. For a game that has been in development for the better half of 6 years, players have had numerous chances to test out the early access version of the game. This has been largely untouched for most of the development cycle, so anyone who played through it will know exactly how to beginning of the game plays out. But as players will be aware of, not everything in the early access section of the game is as it was. There are a few tweaks and changes to the content that was already released, but many have begun to wonder: when do you finish early access content in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)?
When do you finish Early Access content in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)?
If you’ve never played Baldur’s Gate 3 before its 1.0 release, the early access build of the game covered almost the entirety of the first act. People who experienced this version will notice cinematic additions and changes even from the start of the tutorial in the first game. As you progress through the first act, there are a few noticeable differences you’ll be able to point out. Most notably, the quest that tasks you with travelling to Moonrise Towers.

For those who played the early access, after saving Halsin there wasn’t a whole lot to do in terms of progressing the main quest. There are a few optional fights you can do in early access, such as the fight in the Grymforge. However once players get tasked with traveling to Moonrise Towers, this is when you know you’re time with EA is up. Simply travel up the elevator in the Underdark, you’ll have successfully completed all of the BG3 early access content. Alternatively you could take the Mountain Pass to Moonrise Towers, as this is a completely brand new region, previously not available. But no matter what direction you should choose to embark in, either one of these will get you going to bigger and better things on your way to Baldur’s Gate. Hopefully you can survive on the way there, and not get eaten by a dragon.
