When can you buy Quick Balls in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

You have to wait a while before you can be quick

Its taken a long time for Pokeballs outside of the original 3 to feel like they really work in the game. Unique Pokeball types have been introduced every generation, but some of them didn’t feel like they really did anything till much later. By the time the Quick Ball and others were introduced in Gen 4, the options started to look more appealing. For Pokemon Scarlet and Violet this is very important because you’ve got 400 pokemon to catch. However, not all Pokeballs are available at the start of the game. You have to accomplish certain goals to unlock new times at the Pokemart. Here’s when you can buy Quick Balls in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

When are Quick Balls Available?

The quick answer, pun intended, is Quick Balls will be available at the Pokemart after earning your 5th gym badge. Because of the new open world in Scarlet and Violet, you can battle any 5 Pokemon Gyms and it will still unlock the same new items at the Pokemart. Quick Balls are for sale at 1,000$ at the Pokemart.

What are Quick Balls?

The quick Pokeball is yellow and blue in design with the yellow looking similar to lightning streaks. Quick Balls are designed to be used out the gate during a pokemon encounter. The sooner you throw a Quick Ball the better chance you have of it working in one go. Most Pokemon, even with full health, have a high chance of being captured in the first turn throw of a Quick Ball.

There is also another option to gain some free Quick Balls. You get rewards for capturing new Pokemon from your Pokedex. Every 10 new pokemon added to your Pokedex you get a new reward. Once you have added 120 Pokemon entries to your Pokedex, you will receive 10 Quick Balls!

There are also chances of finding Quick Balls in the wild as you explore the open world of Scarlet and Violet.
