When can you Trade in Scarlet and Violet?

You’ll be able to access trading quite early in Scarlet and Violet. First, you’ve got to get through the initial tutorials and early exploring. This will be after you have picked your starter Pokemon and encountered your legendary companion whom you’ll be traveling throughout the game with.

Probably somewhere after 30 or 40 minutes of gameplay you’ll come across the first Pokemon Center (pictured above). Here you’ll be able to heal your Pokemon, buy items, and yes, access online mode where you can use multiplayer. With that online and multiplayer access, you can begin trading Pokemon!

You can access trading through any Pokemon Center you come across in your journey. With the multiplayer feature, you’ll be able to trade and battle with your friends in real-time and in person as well.

So there you have it, just after the first initial storyline cut scenes and exploring the first open route, you’ll be able to trade Pokemon with friends! Don’t forget to collect as many Pokemon as you can and have fun discovering the new open-world of Scarlet and Violet!
