While the game is still in early access, Phasmophobia has been pumping out update after update. Because of this, players who might have purchased the game earlier in it’s lifecycle might be scurrying to figure out any new features. Maybe a whole new type of ghost has been introduced since you’ve last played. Whatever the case may be a certain type of melodic messages have been confusing certain players. And let’s face it, hearing creepy singing while hunting for a ghost can be quite spooky. Because of this, we’re going to listen carefully and answer the question: what ghost sings in Phasmophobia?

In Phasmophobia, there are a plethora of ghost events that can happen while you’re searching for clues. Singing counts as one of these events, and can be triggered intentionally, or at random. As such, it should be known that Banshees have a higher likelihood of singing out of every ghost type. If you use a parabolic microphone, Banshees can be heard shrieking through it every now and then. It should be said that while they have a higher chance of singing, Banshees aren’t the only type of ghost that can sing.

When ghosts are singing, they’ll usually stand in one spot until they are done. The help differentiate which ghost it could be, male ones hum a low-tone tune, and females sing ‘Ring Around the Rosie’. As with a select number of them in Phasmo, there will be certain ghosts that have higher chances of performing certain ghost events than other. This means that even if you hear a ghost start to sing, it might not always be a slam-dunk decision for Banshee. Make sure to keep an eye out for ghost orbs, fingerprints, and figures showing up on the D.O.T. Projector to confirm your suspicions.
