Warzone 2.0: How to Fix Friends List Not Working

Keep your friends list close

With a release as big as Warzone 2.0, there are bound to be a few bugs here and there. And while Infinity Ward has been squashing bugs left and right, there are still some that players find troubling. Most frustrating out of all of them in the moment? Being unable to invite friends over though the friends list. For whatever reason this causes players to get kicked to the main menu.

Checking Modern Warfare II’s Trello board, it seems that Infinity Ward is aware of the situation, though at the moment the developers are working on other bug fixes. Until this issue is addressed, here’s how players can still play with friends and work around this bug.

How to Invite friends

Fortunately, there’s another way to group up with friends in Warzone 2.0. Though this is a feature that some players may not even be aware of. Channels are a way to communicate and hang with friends well outside the max lobby size of game modes. Luckily it’s also a way to circumvent the friends list error.

Setting up a Channel

Creating a channel is fairly easy. Starting off in the Main menu of Warzone 2.0, highlight the headphone icons. Selecting it will prompt players to create a channel, simply accept and the channel will be created. From there it’s a simple matter of heading over to the Social tab

From there, select the friends you wish to invite and send out invitations. Since this is happening in the channel, this avoids the friends list bug and allows your friends to join you without getting kicked to the main menu.

Until Infinity Ward addresses this bug directly, this seems to be the only way of inviting friends to matches. Fortunately, this method is fast and efficient, and also most likely the most attention the Channels feature will get until the friends list bug is squashed.
