How to unlock the Flamer in Warhammer 40K: Darktide

The Flamer is a righteous weapon that only the most fanatical of worshipers can hold. So it’s unsurprising that the Zealots are the ones to wield it. There are a few ways to unlock and get hold of the Flamer.

For any of these methods, you’ll need to be Trust Level 12, so some serious grinding is in order. When you’ve achieved the level, then the Flamer should start appearing in the Armoury Exchange for purchase. The weapon cycle in the Armoury Exchange refreshes every hour and is random, so you’ll need to keep checking back to see if it’s appeared. Also once Trust Level 12, the weapon will start appearing in the Requisitorium, as either a gamble weapon or a listed item. It may also become an Emperor’s gift as a random reward after completing missions.

Once you have your hands on the mighty Flamer, all you need to do is equip it in your loadout and you’ll be good to go.

How to use the Flamer in Warhammer 40K: Darktide

As it stands, the Flamer is not all it is cracked up to be. It does not ignite or burn enemies, and ammo supplies are sparse. The Flamer is not an elite weapon that will melt through a whole horde or set the whole lot ablaze. Players are upset about this, but it may change after full release.

If you want to properly use the Flamer, avoid using it when elite enemies are about and instead have it handy to cull back the hordes whilst they are charging at you, then switch to your melee weapon to finish them off.

You cannot rely on it, but if you use it when it is safe to do so, and you’ll notice that it nicely chunks off a lot of weaker enemies’ health.
