In Warhammer 40K Darktide, players need every advantage they can to face the unending hordes of foes. Opponents like the Beast of Nurgle require coordinated teamwork and the best loadouts, especially on higher difficulties. Luckily, players have access to an arsenal of weapons that bludgeon, maim, and carve into any and all foes. One of these weapons is the Power Sword. While it may not have the appeal of the Chain Sword, the Power Sword is a unique weapon that challenges player’s knowledge of enemies and timing. Acquiring the Power Sword is fairly simple, with dedication players will find one in their inventory in a short amount of time.

Getting the Power Sword

So how does one get the Power Sword in Warhammer 40K Darktide? The simple answer is, just by playing the game. It’s important to mention first, that the only class able to use the Power Sword is the Veteran. Any players using other classes are simply out of luck. Though should they use a Veteran and reach level eighteen, the Power Sword will be waiting for them. Once purchased, the weapon will be theirs to own. While fairly simple, this is quite the long process; as eighteen is halfway though the class progress system. Although lengthy, the weapon is well worth it in combat.

How does the Power Sword Work?

The Power Sword offers the regular experience of melee weapons for players. There’s the traditional light and heavy attacks that are great for both crowd control. Though what truly makes the Power Sword stand out is its special action. Players can charge the sword, making energy surround the sword when fully charged. Not only does it make the sword look cooler, but it increases all damage done by the sword. Though when charging the player is left vulnerable.

So begins a game of risk and reward, where players who mastered the game can make the most of the Power Sword. Dodging, charging, and using attacks with extra damage is not easy to do, but learn to pull it off and you’ll prove you are proficient at Warhammer 40K Darktide’s mechanics
