Trench Rogue Company: How to Play Guide

When it comes to playing as Trench, distance and traps are going to be your friends if you want to succeed at playing as him. His Ability is the Barbed Wire Grenade which creates a field of barbed wire that both damages and slows enemies. This can come in handy to create chokepoints that allow for you to take out enemies as well as close off corridors from them. Additionally, his Passive Ability, Gadget Up, allows for him to take an additional gadget on his person.

As for his loadout, Trench has access to the HRM-30KS AR and the MX-R DMR. I typically use the DMR as it’s best for ranged combat, allowing him to take cover after deploying his barbed wire and take unsuspecting enemies out. His Pistol, the Executioner furthers this type of gameplay as it has great range and power to it as well. For Melee, he has the Baseball Bat and his Gadgets consist of a Trip Mine and the Active Protection System. Either Gadget is great for Trench but the Trip Mines are my go-to for reinforcing the Barbed Wire or for the closing of an additional entrance to where I’m situated.

Looking at Trench’s perks, I go for the more expensive ones first. Energized gives him the chance to recharge his Ability 40% faster and Armor grants him an additional 75 armor to keep him alive. After those, I’ll grab the Resupply perk which makes it so that he can pick up supply kits which give him more gadgets once an enemy has been killed and the Stalker perk which allows him to aim down sights with a reduced movement penalty of 25%.

At the end of the day, Trench is a protector, so keeping eyes on your team at all times and making sure you’ve properly set traps in your situated position is what’s going to help your team, especially if you’re doing this from a distance.

That’s all there is to playing as Trench in Rogue Company! Hopefully, this guide gave you clarity on what it means to play as such a formidable Defender.
