There are a ton of horror games to play during the Halloween season but there are even more Halloween-themed events happening in a lot of games no matter their genre. And it can be difficult to figure out what you should be playing as you really only have the month of October to do so. Top 5 In-Game Halloween Events and How to Play (2022)
It’s important to note that all of these Halloween events we’re going to talk about are indeed free to play but could cost you in-game currency to purchase items or may require you to use real-world money in order to purchase items or battle pass type of content. So, let’s get into it!
Grand Theft Auto Online
The Grand theft Auto annual Halloween event kicks off with Halloween vehicles making their way back into the game as well as new classic horror film masks, a chance to see a UFO, Slasher and Alien survival modes, and even a pumpkin scavenger hunt with free goodies included. This event runs all month long so check it out now!
Dead by Daylight
Who knew Dead by Daylight would have a Halloween event? Well, it does and includes a bountiful host of tricks and treats. There are free outfits to unlock for survivors and killers as well as premium ones, a Tome that includes even more free and premium goodies depending on if you’re willing to drop some money, and a special in-game Halloween challenge. This one runs through November 3rd so better get out there!

Fortnite
Though not much has been spilled about this year’s Fortnitemares thus far, the event is typically a large event that includes a lot of new characters to purchase, freebies to unlock through in-game challenges, and an island dressed to its best Halloween attire. Don’t miss this one that begins on October 18th.
Apex Legends
Beginning October 22nd, players of this iconic BR title are going to have a lot to enjoy. With both new and returning Halloween cosmetics arriving for purchase, a track of items to unlock, and a limited-time Shadow Royale mode, there’s a lot to be excited about if you’re an Apex fan. This event runs until November 3rd.
Minecraft
Running through November 9th, players can expect a lot of Halloween tricks and treats between regular Minecraft and Minecraft Dungeons. This isn’t just an event happening in-game either, as you can even purchase Halloween-themed Minecraft gear from the store as well!
