There is a feature in World of Warcraft’s Dragonflight that is causing quite a buzz among the gamign community, and for good reason. I’ve become fascinated with the embellishment system in the ninth expansion to World of Warcraft, because it adds a whole new layer of optimization to the game! With the fresh addition of crafted gear, players now have more options around critical pieces that can significantly boost the power level of their characters.
The system allows for two types of embellishments, Optional Reagents, and Crafted Embellished Gear, but it can get a little bit confusing since there are also some pieces of gear that already come with bonuses on their own. However, with a bit of understanding, the embellishment system can offer some interesting choices and combinations for players looking to maximize their character’s potential.

Understanding the Embellishment System in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight
The embellishment system in World of Warcraft’s Dragonflight expansion adds a whole new layer to the game which is well-known for an already in-depth combat system. Players can choose secondary stats and powerful embellishments for their character and diverge more into combat specialization. Two types of embellishments can be applied or obtained from items. However, gamers should know that the “Unique-Equipped” trait limits the number of pieces with bonuses that can be equipped. Players will also be able to create unique combinations of stats and bonuses to suit their playstyle and needs. Therefore this system has a fit for all gamers! Without further ado, here are some of the best embellishments in the game thus far!
Which Embellishments Should You Be Using?
- Elemental Lariat: a necklace with an elemental gem that boosts agility.
- Unstable Frostfire Belt: adds frost and fire damage to attacks, but has a chance to harm the wearer.
- Alchemical Flavor Pocket: randomly generates food and drink items with special stat bonuses.
- Fang Adornments: shoulder adornments resembling fangs that increase critical strike odds.
- Toxified Armor Patch: adds a poison effect to attacks when applied to armor.
- Potion Absorption Inhibitor: prevents potion effects from being applied to the wearer for a short time.
- Magazine of Healing Darts: ranged weapon accessory with healing darts for allies.
- Blue Silken Lining: added to armor to increase resilience to magic damage.
- Allied Wristguard of Companionship: paired with another to grant a special bonus when worn by two friends or allies.
