Well, that is the danger of surviving in the wild, everything can kill you. Thankfully, there are still some sources to keep you from thirst and keep you healthy, without any infection of any kind. So, if you want to just worry about those handy monsters and not where to drink safely, here is how to get water in Sons of the Forest.
How to Get Water in Sons of the Forest
Water is one of the most important resource you can’t live without. After three days without a sip of water, a regular human will perish. And well, our protagonist needs to drink some if he doesn’t want to meet the same destiny. Thankfully, there are several ways you will be able to get this valuable resource in the wild. So, don’t worry too much, you will get to plenty of room to drink water in Sons of the Forest.
The most obvious way to drink and fight your thirst is to go to some drinkable water sources. Take emphasis on the drinkable part of the statement, since not all water sources are safe to drink. For example, don’t drink ocean water or stagnant water, unless you want to get extremely sick. Go ahead and use your GPS to find rivers that have clear water. Be sure to not have any item assigned to your right hand, and press E to drink as much as you want.
If you are not near any water source, you can farm some Yarrow. It is a white flower that you will be able to collect. Open your inventory by pressing I and consume it. It will act as some portable water, getting rid of your thirst. It is very helpful if you don’t want to stray from your current objective.

Eventually, you will be able to use items such as skins in order to filter water that is not in drinkable condition. For the time being, the above methods are quite useful and fast, and will certainly satisfy your thirst in case of an emergency. Keep drinking water in real life as well, it is healthy after all.
