Should You Sell or Keep Legendary Gear in Hogwarts Legacy?

Does it Spark Joy?

In Hogwarts Legacy — like with many other games — there is a limited inventory. So, there’ll come a time when you have to ask yourself … what’s most important to you? Which gear should you hold onto for the future, and which should you cast into the abyss? Is there a distinction between legendary and basic gear? And, regardless of the answer, is there truly a reason to hold onto this so-called legendary gear?

If you’ve found yourself wondering whether you need to keep that impressive gear or sell it off, read on. The answer may or may not shock you, depending on how new you are to games of this caliber.

Should You Sell or Keep Legendary Gear in Hogwarts Legacy?

It seems the consensus is large that you shouldn’t worry about holding onto any gear, at least in the early game. As you’ll come across equipment and gear that’s much stronger and does more or less the same things later, there’s no need to be a hoarder. So, sell it.

That being said — if you’re already cleared much of the game, or if you’re above level 40, the advice we have is the exact opposite. It’s entirely at your discretion, but at that point in the game, you might not find anything better. But, you also might. If you couldn’t tell, the answer to this question depends on each individual playstyle. I, for example, tend to hold onto literally everything I have ever acquired and only sell if I have no other option. But you could be dramatically different.

What we definitely advise against is destroying your gear since most of it can be sold for a decent amount of gold. So, if you’re sick and tired of a certain item at least find some benefit from removing it from your inventory. If you’re in a situation where you don’t have the option to sell and you must free your inventory of some Legendary item go for the most common one you have and destroy it. In the late game, it won’t be a problem for you to distinct which item can be found easier so making this choice won’t be so tough.
