Where to Find Oshawott in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Where to Find Oshawott in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Here's where to find Oshawott in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

I have been a staunch adherent to Water type starters since the very first generation of Pokemon, which is why I naturally chose Oshawott as my starter in Pokemon Legends: Arceus (and nicknamed him Revolver). Of course, not everyone is about that Water starter life, and may not have started out with an Oshawott. You still have to fill out that Pokedex, though, so you have to get one sooner or later. In this guide, we’ll take a look at where to find Oshawott in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

The first way to get your hands on a singular Oshawott is to simply beat the main story of Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Assuming you didn’t pick Oshawott as your starter Pokemon, it’s still hanging around in Professor Laventon’s office at the Galaxy Team HQ. After the credits roll and you’re dropped into the post-game, return to Galaxy Hall and see Laventon in his office. Simply chat with him, and he’ll offer to give you the other two starter Pokemon that you didn’t take at the beginning of the game, including, presumably, Oshawott.

However, this will only get you one Oshawott, and while you can max out its Pokedex level with just one, if you want to 100% complete its Pokedex entry, you need to catch at least five. Unfortunately, Oshawotts don’t spawn anywhere in the Hisui region. Or, at least, they don’t spawn naturally.

Oshawotts, as well as Dewotts and Hisuian Samurotts, have a chance to appear in Space-Time Distortions, specifically ones that appear in the Alabaster Icelands. Of course, actually getting a Space-Time Distortion to appear can be a bit time consuming, though the odds are improved somewhat if you visit the Alabaster Icelands while there aren’t any Pokemon Outbreaks going on.

If and when a Space-Time Distortion begins to form, make your way over to it quickly and set up shop in some tall grass or other fairly safe hiding spot. When the Distortion appears in full, Pokemon will begin spawning in and out at random, and they’re usually pretty strong, so you don’t want to go picking fights until it’s necessary. If you’re lucky, an Oshawott will appear among the crowd, at which point you can lob a Poke Ball at it for a quick catch, or, if it escapes, pick a fight with it to wear it down. If you’re especially lucky, the Oshawott may even spawn in as an Alpha!

Unfortunately, it’s not guaranteed that an Oshawott will appear in the Distortion before it disappears, so if you don’t spot any, you might just have to wait around until another Distortion forms, whenever that ends up being.

These are the two methods you can use to find Oshawott in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
