How to Evolve Nosepass into Probopass in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Here's where to find Nosepass and what you will need to evolve it into Probopass

A Nosepass’ big red nose is actually an organic electromagnetic compass. It can always point to true north, no matter where it is in the world, though it doesn’t like being around other creatures as they might futz with its inherent magnetism. When it evolves into Probopass, that magnetism is enhanced to the point that it can go pretty much wherever it wants, which is nice for it. Plus it gets that awesome mustache. If you’d like to do yours a favor, then here’s how to evolve Nosepass into Probopass in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

In case you weren’t already aware, Nosepass can be caught in the Coronet Highlands, specifically in the Celestica Ruins and the Primeval Grotto. It’s actually helpful that it makes its home within the Coronet Highlands, as that particular location is vital to the evolutionary process. If you played the original Diamond and Pearl games, you’ll recall that Nosepass could only evolve into Probopass when within proximity of the unique magnetic field emanated by Mount Coronet. The same is true for Legends: Arceus.

All you need to do is stand anywhere within the Coronet Highlands, and Nosepass will be able to evolve. The entire area is considered to be within the proximity of the mountain, which means it’s all affected by the mountain’s magnetic field. Even if you’re just at the base camp at the beginning of the area, it still counts; you can evolve Nosepass at your leisure.

If for whatever reason, however, you don’t feel like evolving your Nosepass within the Coronet Highlands, Nosepass does have a secondary means of evolution. All you need to do is use a Thunder Stone on it, and it will evolve into Probopass, presumably due to… I don’t know, electromagnetism or something. Anyway, you can obtain a Thunder Stone by smashing shaking ore deposits in any area, looking for items on the ground inside of a Space Time Distortion, completing certain requests, or by trading 1,000 Merit Points for one over at the item exchange stand in Jubilife Village. Once you’ve got the stone, just rub it on your Nosepass, and it’ll evolve into a Probopass, no matter where you are in the world.

Kinda seems like a waste of a Thunder Stone since, again, you can just stand in the Coronet Highlands to get the same effect, but hey, don’t let me tell you how to live your life. Maybe if a friend trades you a Nosepass, but you haven’t progressed to the Coronet Highlands yourself yet, it’s an alternate way of adding Pokedex entries? Sure, let’s go with that.
