Unique colors, unique items.

Action RPGs, and well, RPGs in general, imply exploration and rewards. The longer you go, the more rare items you will encounter in your way. And the rarer the items, the more valuable they are. That applies to enemies and places as well, which can give you a hard time, specially if you do not have the required level to confront them. Anyway, rarity colors are a common thing to use as well to distinguish between the item classes. Here are all the rarity colors in Path of Exile, explained.

In the world of Path of Exile, there are quite a bunch of things that have a specific color according to their rarity. This includes items, monsters, strongboxes, and even maps. There is a total of four unique colors in Path of Exile: white, blue, rare, and unique. As you can see below, there is a color hierarchy, and its order is as listed below. Here are all the rarity colors in Path of Exile:

  • White / Normal: items that have no special properties. These will be the most efficient to enchant of the bunch.
  • Blue / Magic: will have either a suffix or a prefix, and will be able to have up to two random modifications.
  • Yellow / Rare: can have up to six random modifications, and its name is randomly generated.
  • Orange / Unique: modifications are not randomized, are unique, and can be static or wider than normal. These items will be able to break many of the ordinary item rules in the game.

Now that you know how to interpret the colors that surround certain items, be sure to keep the ones that are unique and rare or carry a boost that will benefit your play style and ensure you don’t die. Be sure to enchant the normal / white items, and you will be able to make the best out of all items in the game.
