Is Naraka: Bladepoint on Consoles?

Is Naraka: Bladepoint on Consoles?

Last Wednesday, Naraka: Bladepoint, a Battle Royale game with a major emphasis on melee combat and grappling hook-powered mobility finally exited Early Access into a full release. Initial impressions have been fairly positive, though apparently you gotta wade through a bunch of matches packed with bots before you can get to the meatier stuff. Still, with Naraka: Bladepoint now making its stand on PC, one can’t help but wonder if and when the other kids on the block will get a piece of the action. So, is Naraka: Bladepoint on consoles?

Is Naraka: Bladepoint on Consoles?

At the time of writing, Naraka: Bladepoint is only available on PC, albeit through your choice of Steam or the Epic Games Store. A PC release has been the devs’ first and foremost priority since the beginning of development, and even though the game has officially come out as of last week, anyone who’s made a live-service multiplayer game can tell you that post-launch work, from bug squashing to updates, can last weeks or even months.

That said, while Naraka: Bladepoint is not currently on consoles, that doesn’t mean it isn’t going to be at some point. The devs have said that the PC release, and presumably whatever follows it, is on the top of their to-do list, but once all of that has been sufficiently handled, they have every intention of then bringing the game to consoles. When precisely that will be hasn’t been specified, but the devs have said it will be “someday not too far away.”

As for what consoles it’ll be on, the devs are targeting a release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One, with the first console to get in on the action presumed to be the PlayStation 5. A Nintendo Switch port is also possible, though not confirmed.
