The update brings a new hero, map changes, two returning limited-time modes, and the start of two events.

Naraka: Bladepoint, the popular free-to-play action-adventure battle royale from NetEase, is working on rolling out the latest update. As a result, servers will be down for a four-hour window between 6 p.m. through 10 p.m. ET on Wednesday, January 19. Naraka: Bladepoint Wuchen

Naraka: Bladepoint’s new hero is a Mystic Daoist known as Wuchen. As per the patch notes, here’s a description of the new hero:

Born with the blood of both common mortals and the Heralds flowing within his veins, Wuchen was once scorned for his mixed ancestry. That is, until he began studying under the Heralds’ leader, Omnius. The arduous, pained years Wuchen had endured burned like a fire within him. They gave him the drive to push harder, and realize the mysteries of heaven and earth. Wuchen holds firm to one thing more than anything else: he is the one with the power to shake off these worldly chains.

In addition to the new hero, players will find all-new locations ‘Breezy Made’ and ‘Dragonspine Yard,’ as well as some new architecture and natural landscapes around the map.

Limited-Time Modes

Additionally, two limited-time modes are returning: Shadow Surge and Eternal Blazed. The former, Shadow Surge, is available from January 24 through February 3 with some updates. The number of Soul Atars has increased, players start with two different random melee weapons (instead of six), and defeated players now drop Soulbloom Essence.

The latter mode, Eternal Blazes, will be available when Shadow Surge ends on February 3 until February 13. The mode returns with a few updates as well. Players can now revive faster and are given Pistols, Bows, Cannons, Repeating Crossbows, and Muskets instead of receiving three random ranged weapons in the previous version. Dark Tide Coins are dropped from defeated enemies, and the price of souljades and Rift Dealer items are priced according to their strength. The maximum party size in Eternal Blazes increases to three, up from two, and the map size of the battle area is now smaller. Lastly, all heroes are able to be selected in this mode, but two will be randomly banned in each game.

Limited-time Events

Two new limited-time events are also on the horizon: Spring Vitality and Nature of Taoism.

Spring Vitality includes two rounds, the first of which runs from January 24 through February 5, and the second, which runs from February 5 through February 13. During this event, players can choose a high-grade reward to receive and can earn Firecrackers by completing daily quests. Turn in the Firecrackers for event rewards during each round.

Nature of Taoism is available from January 20 through January 26. Players can earn Spirit Charms by completing event quests, which can then be redeemed for great event rewards.
