Have you ever gone back to an RPG after finishing it and broken it completely, either with a New Game Plus or cheats? I like to call them “revenge runs,” because I get to completely body all of the bosses that gave me trouble the first time around. Of course, this is on the assumption that you’ve already played the game through once. If you’re trying to cheat from the get-go, you may have a harder time. Unfortunately, there are no cheats in Monster Hunter Stories 2. There is no external way to influence or manipulate the game’s proceedings, barring the use of a third-party cheat engine. Of course, since Monster Hunter Stories 2 has a major online component, using a cheat engine is very likely to get you banned, assuming you don’t inadvertently break your game first.

Still, unless you’re seeking revenge after a first playthrough, there’s not really any reason to try and cheat in this game. You can do things like fly around the world by simply obtaining a flying mount, and most encounters can be easily dealt with as long as you remember the game’s rock-paper-scissors-style strength and weakness system. As a reminder, that system works like this:
- Power beats Technical
- Technical beats Speed
- Speed beats Power
As long as you employ Monsties that have attack-type superiority over their foes and you’ve done your due diligence in leveling up, the game should be straightforward enough that cheating isn’t necessary. If you absolutely have to cheat with a cheat engine, just know that you do so at your own risk.
