MLB The Show 22’s Road to the Show allows players the unique opportunity to create a ballplayer from scratch and lead them up through the minors to become MLB superstars. As an outfielder, two of the biggest prerequisites are having a strong arm and solid ball-tracking skills. As a right fielder, you will be relied on to cover the entire right side of the field while sitting behind first base, catching any fly balls that come your way and launching them with pinpoint accuracy to the correct base. In addition to the strong physical attributes and awareness, you’ll also want to play for a team that can utilize your diverse skill set.

Best Teams to Join as a Right Fielder in MLB The Show 22 Road to the Show

Here are the best teams to join as a right fielder in MLB The Show 22’s Road to the Show:

  • Pittsburgh Pirates
  • Los Angeles Angels
  • Chicago Cubs

Pittsburgh Pirates

If you’ve been following along with our recent guides, you’ve likely seen the Pittsburgh Pirates as one of the teams to join in just about every position. Well, this is because they really have various needs spread out across the entire roster, ranking as one of the worst teams statistically in MLB The Show 22.

Their current situation at right outfielder is a major problem, presenting the perfect scenario for you to break out into the major league. Currently, their current starter is a double-A ballplayer named Connor Scott, who carries a lowly 61 overall rating, which is the worst in the game. While joining the Pirates as a right outfielder probably won’t result in many wins, it is the quickest way to play in the big leagues, regardless of position.

Los Angeles Angels

The Los Angeles Angels are in a much better situation than the Pirates in terms of pure roster power. It’s a team headlined by the face of MLB The Show 22, Shohei Ohtani, and the best player in baseball, Mike Trout. However, they also happen to have a massive hole to fill on the right side of the field.

In the right field is the current starter and triple-A player, Taylor Ward, who carries a very beatable 69 OVR. Even though playing in Pittsburgh will guarantee you a much easier path to the MLB, joining the Angels presents you with the chance to play in Los Angeles and for a team that could compete right away.

Chicago Cubs

Last but certainly not least, there’s the 2016 World Series Champion Chicago Cubs. While certainly not as good as their star-studded team from 2016, the 2022 Chicago Cubs have a moderately talented roster and could make some noise with a reliable starter at the right field.

Outside of the obvious allure of playing at Wrigley Field, you would also only have to outplay their current right fielder, Jason Heyward, who’s been handed a 69 overall rating. You could easily get called up to start as the team’s right fielder sooner than most and instantly improve a club that could go on a run well into October.
