Though there are a number of settings you can change, these are the ones you should focus on to improve your game and overall experience:

  1. Difficulty
  2. Presentation Settings
  3. Camera Angle

Difficulty

One of the best things about MLB The Show 22 is that so many different difficulty levels are built to cater to every type of player. There are nine difficulty levels in total, so, regardless of your level of experience, you should be able to find the optimal difficulty for your style of play.

Even though most people who have experience playing MLB The Show will likely lean towards All-Star or Hall of Fame, if you’re completely new to the game or just getting back into it, you will instead want to go with Dynamic mode.

This difficulty will increase or decrease as you play through the game, depending on how well you do or how much you struggle. It is designed to match up with whatever skill level you are at precisely. Unfortunately, you will have to start out at the Beginner level, but if you’re good at the game, this will change pretty quickly and allow you to get better in the process.

Presentation Settings

Another very important setting that can make or break how much you enjoy the game is the presentation settings in MLB The Show 22, which will control the speed of the games and how they play out. Underneath the presentation settings menu, you will find three different options:

  1. Broadcast
  2. Fast Play
  3. Hybrid

Broadcast is the closest setting to an actual live game as possible. Presenting you with replays, showing your batters stepping out of the box between pitches, and other aspects you would typically see in your average baseball game.

Fast Play will take you to the essential parts of the game, allowing you to play through the entire match as quickly as possible. And Hybrid (as you can probably imagine) will put you somewhere between the two.

Camera Angle

Like NBA 2K, MLB The Show 22 relies heavily on the camera angle you find most comfortable. That isn’t to say that it’s the most important setting, but it’s certainly one of them.

When batting, while most of it will depend on which playstyle you enjoy most, there are two batting settings that you should look to prioritize:

  1. Fisheye
  2. Strike Zone

Each of these will minimize your view of the batter so that you can focus solely on the strike zone, which will give you a better chance of perfecting the timing of the pitch and hitting the ball as a result.

When you’re pitching, the default usually has you sitting behind the pitcher with the broadcast camera angle. However, much like batting, the accuracy of your pitching will come down to minor details and timing. So, you should try to zoom in on the strike zone instead by using the fisheye and strike zone camera options.
