EA Sports is set to reveal a ton of information on the upcoming Madden 22 game, and with so much news just around the corner, it can be hard to keep track of what’s on the schedule. Of all the exciting news to come out, the one area of the game that fans are eager to find out more about is the official Madden 22 ratings.Â
While our predictions for the official Rookie Ratings and 99-Club have been covered in another article, this post highlights our predictions for the top Madden 22 team ratings.
Madden 22 Team Ratings Predictions
When it comes to narrowing down which teams will carry the best ratings in Madden 22, it’s important to consider the team ratings in Madden 21 and how these teams performed during the actual NFL season. With everything considered, we believe these five teams will hold the best ratings in Madden 22:
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Not only are TB12 and the Bucs the 2021 Super Bowl Champs, but they also retained all of their starters while adding a few complimentary pieces along the way. Tampa Bay had a Madden 21 team rating of 88, which ranked them among the top in the NFL. However, they still were undervalued, and after just shutting down the best offense in the NFL (Chiefs), don’t be surprised to see Tampa Bay take the top spot in Madden 22.
- Kansas City Chiefs – Even though the Chiefs are coming off a brutal 31-9 loss in the Super Bowl, they still carry talent all over the field and are led by the best player in the NFL, Patrick Mahomes. With a trio of Kelce, Hill, and Mahomes, this team will always be scary to face, but they don’t have nearly as much depth as Tampa Bay does. They added some talent on the offensive line like Orlando Brown Jr., Joe Thuney, and Kyle Long, which will undoubtedly help keep Mahomes protected. But they’ll still probably end up falling behind the Bucs in terms of overall team ratings.
- Buffalo Bills – The Bills are one of the hottest teams in the NFL, led by their superstar QB-WR tandem of Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs. Buffalo saw tremendous improvements in 2020, going on to knock out the Colts and Ravens before losing to Kansas City’s hands in the AFC Championship Game. They have one of the most talented rosters in the NFL that got even deeper after adding in some depth through free agency and the draft. They carried one of the better ratings in Madden 21 (87) and didn’t struggle to lose any big names. Expect the Bills to be one of the better teams in Madden 22.
- Baltimore Ravens – Baltimore led the entire NFL in rushing yards as a team, mostly due to the remarkable play of Lamar Jackson. The Ravens also had one of the tougher defensive units and just added multiple weapons on offense (Sammy Watkins, Rashod Batemen, and Tylan Wallace). And after losing to the Bills in the playoffs, the Ravens have prioritized upgrading the offensive line by bringing in veteran guard Kevin Zeitler and tackle Alejandro Villanueva. Baltimore has set themselves up perfectly for a deep run in 2021-22, and we expect their Madden 22 rating to reflect this.
- Cleveland Browns – Cleveland had a tremendously successful year in 2020, with Baker Mayfield taking a massive leap as the franchise’s lead man and the team’s defense. They added some key talent this offseason through the draft (Greg Newsome and Owusu-Koromoah) and still have the most dangerous backfield in the entire NFL (Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb). They’ve added depth on defense while retaining all of their offensive weapons and improving their superstar quarterback. Don’t be surprised if the Browns are one of the more deadly squads to play with in Madden 22.
