Day Four brings with it some devastating consequences for two teams in particular – Cloud9 and Pentanet GG. If either team commits to a two loss day again, their chances at the bracket stage are slashed to zero. Meanwhile, Royal Never Give Up, Damwon KIA, and MAD Lions are sitting comfortably at the top, well deserving of their Tier 1 region statuses.

Last Chances
Pentanet GG is 0 – 6 and needs a miracle to make it to the bracket stage. Their only course of action is to win every game from this point out AND hope that two teams also go 4 – 6 AND that the head-to-head matchups for the three way tie are all even. As anyone can see, this fate is severely out of PGG’s hands and relies heavily on the fate that other teams will take. However, to the credit of PGG, they have already announced their goal of the tournament is to learn as much as possible and have fun in the meanwhile. And considering the types of compositions and niche picks PGG has chosen, they have won over the hearts of fans worldwide.
Cloud9 is in almost as bad a position as PGG. C9’s only win thus far has been against the team that has not secured any wins, which is telling in how well the North American seed is faring. With a 1 -5 record, C9 needs every single win to have a risky entrance into the bracket stage. Whereas PGG needs a plethora of ingredients with the weather and planets to align perfectly, C9 have more control over their destiny moving forwards. There is bleak hope, and odds are near 19:1 in favor of not making it out of the Rumble, but this situation is nothing new for NA fans.
