League of Legends: GAM Will Not Be Attending 2021 Mid-Season Invitational

Last year, Vietnam had previously announced that its representatives for the 2020 League of Legends World Championship would not be participating in China due to the event requiring in-person attendance. It seems the country is taking similar precautions for its LoL team yet again, restricting travel to Iceland for the same reason.

This comes as a heavy blow to the region, whose fans are starved to cheer for a hometown favorite. GAM Esports are an underdog team in the upcoming MSI but are by no means a weak competitor. As spectators and players alike, we can only hope the situation that the pandemic has caused will abate.
