Courtesy of SkinSpotlights, Dr. Mundo’s new kit and aesthetics have been revealed. Riot has had an above-average track record when reworking champions – some champions’ reworks are fantastic, including Wukong and Volibear, while some like Akali were universally agreed to be overkill. Nonetheless, take a look at Dr. Mundo’s reworked League of Legends abilities below!
League of Legends Dr. Mundo Remake Revealed
Passive – Goes Where He Pleases
Dr. Mundo resists the next immobilizing effect that hits him instead of losing current health and dropping a chemical canister nearby. Dr. Mundo can pick it up by walking over it, restoring a portion of maximum health and reducing this passive’s cooldown. Enemies moving over the canister destroy it.
Dr. Mundo also has increased health regeneration based on his maximum health.
Q – Infected Bonesaw
Dr. Mundo throws an infected bonesaw, dealing magic damage to the first enemy hit based on their current health and slowing them
W – Heart Zapper
Dr. Mundo electrocutes himself for a few seconds, dealing persistent magic damage to nearby enemies and storing a portion of damage he takes as grey health. At the end of the duration, Dr. Mundo deals a burst of magic damage to nearby enemies and heals his grey health if an enemy is hit. Healing is reduced if only monsters and minions are hit.
Dr. Mundo can recast Heart Zapper to end its effects early
E – Blunt Force Trauma
Passive – Dr. Mundo has bonus attack damage increasing based on his missing health.
Active – Dr. Mundo slams his ‘medical’ bag into an enemy, dealing physical damage based on his missing health. If the enemy dies, they are swatted away, dealing this ability’s minimum damage to enemies they pass through.
R – Maximum Dosage
Dr. Mundo pumps himself with chemicals, instantly healing a percent of his missing health. He then heals a portion of his maximum health over a long duration, gaining movement speed and attack damage while healing.
Analysis
Dr. Mundo’s passive makes him more of a threat in all stages of the game as two crowd control abilities are needed to actually restrict the purple monster. His Q is unchanged, so Dr. Mundo mains can rejoice regarding the learning curve. Dr. Mundo’s W no longer makes him a magic resist wall, but rather a supercharged AoE Sunfire that causes an explosion at the end. Mundo’s E functions similarly to Sion’s E but only if it kills a minion or monster while his ultimate is effectively the same but without the initial health cost.
Dr. Mundo’s first impressions give off a tanky threat that cannot be ignored by the backline with a heavy emphasis on wave clear in the early game. In this respect, Dr. Mundo might have simply received a straight upgrade to his kit with the only drawback being a lack of MR on his W. Dr. Mundo’s greatest weakness was the ability to be kited, but with his new passive, players will have to carefully execute their sequence of actions or be visited by the doctor of death.
