One superb example of how much attention to detail has been put into this game is the day and night cycle of Hogwarts Legacy. In short, this day-and-night cycle will make players feel very immersed in the game. Even the environment changes depending on what time of day (or night!) it currently is. In this article, we will explain a few details about how this day and night cycle works.

As you can see in the above image, beams of light are filtering through the windows on the right. This shows that it must be daytime, and likely earlier on in the day. The animals active outside of the castle also change depending on the time of day, for example, you may hear birds chirping earlier in the morning. Also, the interior of the castle will be lit up – or not – depending on the time of day. When it is nighttime, candles and braziers may contain blazing flames to keep it bright indoors. Even more interesting is that there are some areas without any light at night, and you will need to brighten them up using your wand.

One more thing that we love about the day and night cycle is how the theme of your surroundings evolves throughout the day. While during the day everyone is active, and some halls may be crowded with Hogwarts students and staff, at night they are nearly empty. You have a chance to encounter ghosts, wandering students or other fun surprises at night! This is just one detail of the game that will make it a blast to play for any Harry Potter fan.
