Is The Forest Split Screen?

Time to Invite Some Friends

In the survival-horror epic The Forest, developed by Endnight Games, the player must conquer the ultimate PvE experience. In these circumstances, they’ve been rendered the sole survivor of a plane crash. To make matters worse, they’re being hunted by a society of malicious mutants. If that sounds interesting to you, then depending on who you are, your next question might be: is it online multiplayer? Yes.

Can You Play The Forest in Split Screen?

Not officially. In fact, because the game supports online multiplayer with up to eight others, split screen would make the screen look … not great, if we’re being honest. But, if you’re truly insistent on giving it a try, there are ways to make The Forest split screen on PC. Because these methods are untested, we won’t vouch or endorse them, we’re just letting you know they exist.

What is The Forest’s Online Multiplayer Like?

According to developer Endnight Games, The Forest’s storyline can be played solo or with up to eight others. You can “use stealth to evade enemies, or engage them directly with crude weapons built from sticks and stones.”

It’d seem that The Forest’s primary gameplay loop involves defense and crafting mechanics. According to the game’s official website, players can “explore and build during the day. Defend your base at night. Craft weapons and tools. Bunker down during the evening or bring the fight directly to the enemy.”
